Understanding Hash Ambiguity

In MeshCore, packets are routed using short, truncated hashes of a node's full public key to save bandwidth. This dashboard tracks when multiple distinct nodes share the same truncated hash, which can cause routing conflicts.

• Green (Unique): The hash prefix is completely unique.
• Amber/Red (Duplicates): Multiple nodes share this hash. Red indicates a higher number of duplicates.
• Pulsing Red: Critical Risk. A Repeater or Room Server is involved in a collision and is geographically close (<200km) to the conflicting node, meaning traffic is actively at risk of being misrouted!
